Greek Style Cakes

Out in Bay Ridge, we found ourselves in a neighborhood bakery.
Some of the baked goods seemed like the ordinary pastries, but then there were those that looked a lot like an Alien baby. I’m not really sure how to pronounce the name of this one, but it was one of the best.

The one below was a heavy cake filled with syrup and topped with nuts — more traditional in expectation and flavor.
