Moroccan Fry Bread

Moroccan fry bread

Flaky Moroccan fry bread at the New Amsterdam Market.

Flatbreads are a common cross culture style of bread making. This Moroccan fry bread was served like a French crepe, though thicker.

I ate mine plain, the buttery grease adding enough flavor I didn’t need to add anything. Honey is commonly poured over the bread.

The bread was a product of Hot Bread Kitchen, a non-profit organization intended to help low income women enter the workforce through artisanal bread making.
